Digitalization gives great flexibility as the average employee is no longer strictly bound to an office building. This flexibility goes for both employer and employee. There is a lively discussion whether this flexibility should be limited, see for instance France, Germany and the UK.
In the visualization below, we analyzed the incoming and sent emails per employee, both in and outside of working hours. Depending on the jurisdiction per firm, more precise analyses can be conducted on for instance: the direction of email traffic (domains, departments and other employees) or response times.
